Two Virginia Air Territory Managers Honored at National TM Meeting - Phoenix, AZ
December 7, 2004

At the recent York National Territory Managers Meeting in Phoenix, Arizona two Virginia Air TMs won awards.

Ken Varndell - Richmond, VA, Lifetime Acheivement Award. York management recognized Ken Varndell's contribution to the York brand and his 50 years in the HVAC industry. Ken Varndell started in the HVAC industry in 1955. He began his career as a factory worker and has held almost every position available in the industry during his lifetime. He has worked for American Standard, Tappan, Bryant, Rheem, and fortunately ended up in the York family with Virginia Air. After 14 years as a technical manager at a local distributor in Richmond, VA Ken joined Virginia Air in 1999 as Territory Manager. Ken has been an extremely valuable asset as in addition to his role of TM and he also teaches approximately 20 technical training classes per year in Basic Electricity, Duct Design, HVAC Basics, and numerous RSES courses. 2004 marked Ken's 50th year in the HVAC industry.

Ed Zednik - Chesapeake, VA, Rookie of the Year Award. Ed Zednik joined Virginia Air Distributors in 2001 as the counter and parts area manager for our Chesapeake location. We knew instantly that we had a winner as Ed quickly organized and grew our counter and parts business and greatly increased the amount of customer traffic. It was no secret that Ed aspired to be a Territory Manager and was ready for the challenge. After 2 years the opportunity presented itself and Ed was promoted to Territory Manager for an extremely underperforming territory. Ed has been in the field for just over one year now and his passion and drive to succeed are phenomonal. After taking over a territory that was consistently underperforming Ed has made incredible progress. Ed has attended the York TM Boot Camp and very proactively looks for ways that he can make himself a more valuable business partner to his customers. With all that Ed has accomplished what is most encouraging is the momentum he has going into next year and the opportunity awaiting him!
